Therapeutic Riding

Horses move four dimensionally - up and down, side to side, back and forth and through space - all simultaneously. These planes of movement are transferred up from the horse's pelvis to the rider's pelvis and core system. Strengthening these core muscles provide stability in balance, improves breathability, ambulation and digestion.

The unique bond formed with the horse has also shown to aid in improved interpersonal relationships for those with psychological or emotional disabilities. As a result, all riders can experience increased self esteem and coping skills.

Riding sessions are offered during the spring (10 weeks), fall (10 weeks), and during our summer camps (2 weeks, 3 days a week).

Equine Facilitated Learning (EFL)

Equine Facilitated Learning is an educational approach that incorporates equine facilitated activities using the experience of equine/human interaction in an environment of learning and self discovery. This model encourages human growth and development.

EFL allows students to work in a positive environment and achieve positive results. Trust, teamwork, relationship building and leadership can all be fostered in developing a partnership between an individual and their horse.

EFL is offered during both 10-week spring and fall sessions, as well as a 6-week winter session.
